i feel it in my bones.

words cannot possibly describe how much i loved the two shows this week. yes, the setlist (much like the duo's wardrobe), was the same both nights, but the shows felt very different. i keep getting asked which show i liked better, but honestly, i can't decide. what i do know is that i love them 1000% more.

here are some of the highlights from both shows for me:
  • front row seats at massey hall.
  • the ladies’ amazing voices. seriously. could not believe how great they sounded live.
  • tegan’s “host”ing abilities on night one.
  • steve screaming “cheryl mckenzie!!!” when the opening band was taking the stage.
  • sara choking and needing to stop singing midway through “call it off”, resulting in tegan serenading her with new lyrics to the same song while she sipped water.
  • sara wiping her tears with a pink bra (covered with deer and mushrooms?) that was thrown on stage, and then commenting on how freshly-laundered it smelled.
  • tegan (mid song) asking a mosher what he was doing, and if he realized he was trying to start a pit to “where does the good go”. she politely asked him to keep the dancing to himself, while mocking him with “glug, glug, glug” motions.
  • tegan throwing out the aforementioned mosher from the show. i can’t tell you how much i admired her for this. bands rarely care who is getting pushed or trampled. it totes made my night. and made me love them even more. if possible.
there are more pics from both nights posted on flickr and some videos below. i contemplated not posting these, because the audio isn't as great as it was in person. i don't want you to doubt my gushing, they really, really were fantastic...so don't judge based on these.
back in your head - one of the songs from their acoustic encore. just the two on stage. la-la-love tegan's xylophone.
living room - a classic. so many people were waiting (impatiently lol) for this song. of course, it was the last one.
on directing - it's one of my favourites off of the new album. you'll have to excuse the lesbian's mohawk that gets into frame here and there. she was very apologetic, and later let us take her and her girlfriend's spot when they'd had too much of everyone around us. super nice ladies. (the vid starts out pretty blue because of the lighting, but it gets a bit better by the end.)

i love love love them :)

PS: I believe a highlight missed….was the extremely vocal girl behind us yelling “your late” to the opening band, and continuing to yell and scare steve all night :)

hahaha, that was hilar! i felt so bad for the boys behind us though. my eardrums were bleeding, and we had a wall between us and her.
