patio lanterns.

okay, you know it’s been too long since your last blog post when it takes you three tries to get your password right! what can i say? between work, a sick dog and well…life, my blog has been a little neglected. the good news is that casey seems to be on the road to recovery, and my upcoming move is full steam ahead.

you’ll all be tres excited to hear (after all of my ‘terrace’ bragging) that the patio furniture, cushions and even plastic wine glasses have been bought! i literally just need to pack my boxes now! keys on saturday! :)

in the meantime, i’ve come across a few really smart patio solutions that i thought i’d share here, since i know a couple of you are also in full outdoor room mode. i thought the above picture from apartment therapy was a really adorable and affordable solution for outdoor lighting. who doesn’t have some jars and tealights hanging around? love it.

the shot below is a really cute planter idea made of cinder blocks. yes, cinder blocks! put a few of them together and you’ve got a self-contained, modern-looking garden!

i’ve saved the best for last. this one kinda blew my mind. they literally halved an orange, hollowed out the fleshy bits – while leaving the main white stem in there, filled it with olive oil and voila! you have yourself an oil lamp. whether it works is a whole other story. i’m deffo going to give it a try. will let you know what happens!

anyone else have any smart, affordable patio solutions? send them my way!

about time for a new blog post…*L*

loved all of the ideas…the candles in the jars…cheap, but still looks really nice and classy, and they won’t blow out….*L*….the cinder blocks, cool, you could make a really interesting pattern… maybe you can grow a bit of a veggie/herb garden on the new terrance..herbs are multi duty, look nice, smell nice, and yummy to boot…i can see cherry tomatoes poking out..*L*…the olive oil in the orange…looks cool, but what do you light? the stem? not sure if that would work…you know me…i’ll have some ideas once i see the space. see you (and your boxes) next weekend…give chad a hug…xo
