last night was the first time i’d seen sia live…it was also the first time i felt incredibly old, but loved every minute of it. the show was at the phoenix, and for once we didn’t get there ridiculously early, and didn’t weasel our way to the front. instead, we grabbed a few seats upstairs on the balcony. my feet and lower back have never been so happy!
if you haven’t seen sia live, you must. she is hilar and probs the most sunshiney person i have ever seen take the stage. her giggle is ridiculous, and infectious, and though she sings some dancey songs – the lady cannot dance. but god, her moves are sweet. my favourite is her bad robot and her straight-leg-toe-tap. not only does she have some awes moves, but she can really belt it out. from the first song, she owned it – and sounded exactly like anything she’s ever recorded on cd.
you can see from the pic of her stage above and from the pic of her “wings” below, that she just oozes silliness and fun. she had every mic stand and every monitor covered in crochet. all of the walls, the floors, and yes, even each of her bandmates we decked out in top to bottom stripes.
the thing i like most about sia, is that she’s uber talented, and really doesn’t care what people think of her. its so refreshing to see an artist not airbrushing themselves to death or getting naked in their videos. in fact, she often strives for the opposite of beauty…take her music video for ‘buttons’ for example. it’s one of my favourites. so hilarious.

Well, I feel older than you (guess cuz I am *L*) because I’ve never even heard of her, but liked both the links that you posted. She is a talent….xo
